tokio was born from a desire to create something I could truly be satisfied with. After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, I worked in manufacturing for OEM companies and domestic brands. Through that experience, I came to believe in creating something that does not exist anywhere else in the world. At the core of tokio is simplicity and a deep respect for vintage clothing. Vintage pieces are valued not only for their age, but for their fabrics, craftsmanship, and techniques that can no longer be reproduced. I love vintage not because it is trendy, but because it exists beyond trends. My goal is to create garments like an old pair of jeans—something that ages together with the wearer. Rather than reproducing military, workwear, or punk styles, tokio pursues a “changeable vintage.”
