La Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Création is a non-profit organisation serving professionals in the fashion and apparel industry, which was initiated in 2011 by the sector's professional organisations.

Its main goal is to promote French garment making manufacturers who possess unique artisanal and industrial savoir-faire, the diversity of which is often overlooked.

Thanks to its platform, it facilitates contact between brands and manufacturers to encourage local production, which preserves savoir-faire and keeps territories alive. In this way, it contributes to the relocation of the apparel industry, while adhering to a sustainable approach.

Products & Services

The Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Création offers specialized support to help identify French manufacturers of clothing, fashion accessories, and home textiles. This service is built on in-depth expertise of France’s production ecosystem, allowing projects to be efficiently directed toward the most suitable partners.

Requests are carefully analyzed based on specifications, technical needs, and constraints, in order to facilitate the right connections. The support extends across all stages of development, from prototyping to production.

La Maison acts as a strategic link between creation and manufacturing, with the goal of promoting the craftsmanship of local industry professionals and fostering strong, lasting collaborations within the French textile sector. This approach is rooted in attentive listening, thorough analysis, field knowledge, and personalized service.

At the heart of this initiative, the Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Création’s online platform serves as the main tool for delivering its services. Freely accessible to all professionals in the textile, fashion, and apparel sectors, the platform offers access to over 600 French manufacturing players — including workshops and industrial producers across the country.

With more than 200 criteria organized into 12 categories, users can filter their search by type of expertise, product categories, or production volumes. This makes it easier to identify the right manufacturing partners for each project.

The platform supports a model based on production traceability, the promotion of local skills, and efficient matchmaking. This dual support — both digital and human — aims to strengthen the development of long-term projects and collaborations, ultimately encouraging French-based production.
